After a consistent competing season the band managed to “up it’s game”
and finish in the top three places at the final two Major Championships.
At Dumbarton on 30th July they were placed third at the Scottish Championships
and two weeks later followed that with their best result of the year, finishing in second place
behind Perth Metro Pipe Band from Australia at the World Championships in Glasgow.
Pipe Major Neil Henderson was delighted with the result
which was not announced until almost 8:30pm, after a long
day in which the band had to play a qualifying round at
lunchtime and then compete again in the late afternoon
in a 12 band final. The band must now be one of the
main contenders for upgrading at the end of the season.
Well done to all, fantastic result.
